What to Watch: This Weekend, February 25-27

This weekend, set DVRs to record!  Friday night brings all new episodes of Degrassi and Portlandia, plus the season finale of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. On Saturday, don't miss The Graham Norton Show with guest Ashton Kutcher, and brand new episodes of Shameless, Big Love, and Amazing Race on Sunday after The Oscars air on ABC!

Friday, February 25

9:00pm: Degrassi, TeenNick (1 hr) NEW
Riley finally comes out to his mom tonight and she's not happy about it. How will the truth affect his family and his relationship with Zane? Take a look at tonight’s preview:

10:00pm: Spartacus: Gods of the Arena , Starz (1 hr) SEASON FINALE
Batiatus seeks vengeance for all that has befallen his ludus this season and enlists his gladiators (including gay warrior Barca) in battle as the new arena opens, promising a spectacle of combat and blood in tonight’s season finale!

10:30pm: Portlandia, IFC (30 min) NEW
To put together a big league baseball team, the Mayor (played by Kyle MacLachlan) turns to Portlandia’s favorite musical comedy duo Fred Armisen and bisexual musician/actor Carrie Brownstein for help!

5:00pm: The 83rd Annual Academy Awards, ABC
Get your predictions ready, the Superbowl of Hollywood is tonight! The Kids Are All Right and I Am Love are among the LGBT-inclusive nominees at this year’s Oscars, hosted by James Franco and Anne Hathaway.

8:00pm: Amazing Race: Unfinished Business, CBS (1 hr) NEW
Last week in Australia, lesbian contestant Kisha and her sister Jen came in 3rd in the first leg of the race, with Margie and her gay son Luke placing 7th and father/son duo Mel and Mike White finished in 9th place despite their strong start due to a medical emergency on their plane to Sydney in this clip:

9:00pm: Big Love, HBO (1 hr) NEW
Tonight, Bill’s closeted nemesis Alby Grant raises the stakes in his quest for power after Verlan kissed Alby when he failed to complete the hit on Don that Alby had ordered.

10:00pm: Shameless, Showtime (1 hr) NEW
Last week, Kash’s wife found out about his and Ian’s secret affair, and in a surprising twist, Ian and Mickey’s brawl turned intimate. How will the zigzagging gay storylines pan out this week? Tune in and find out!
